Day 1 – Arrival in Windhoek
- Pick up rental vehicle
- Buy SIM card + supplies (water, snacks)
- Optional sunset at Gross Barmen area or rooftop bar
Overnight: Windhoek guesthouse
Day 2 – Windhoek → Sossusvlei
Drive: 5–6 hrs (via Rehoboth & Solitaire)
- Scenic drive through Spreetshoogte or Remhoogte Pass
- Lunch stop at Solitaire
- Afternoon dune walk near lodge
Overnight: Sesriem/Sossusvlei lodge
Day 3 – Sossusvlei Deep Exploration
- Enter gate at sunrise
- Climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy
- 4×4 shuttle to Deadvlei (unless confident in sand driving)
- Visit Sesriem Canyon
- Optional: sunset scenic flight over Namib
Day 4 – Sossusvlei → Swakopmund
Drive: 5–6 hrs
- Cross Tropic of Capricorn
- Drive through Kuiseb Canyon
- Arrive to cool Atlantic air
- Dinner on the jetty
Day 5 – Swakopmund Adventure
Choose 1–2:
- Sandwich Harbour 4×4 tour (highly recommended for photography)
- Dolphin cruise from Walvis Bay
- Sandboarding or quad biking
- Scenic flight over Skeleton Coast
Evening: German bakery cafés.
Day 6 – Swakopmund → Skeleton Coast
Drive: 4–5 hrs
- Visit Cape Cross seal colony
- Explore shipwreck sites (Zeila wreck if accessible)
- Fog + dunes meeting ocean = dramatic photos
Important: Fuel up before leaving Swakopmund
Overnight: Lodge near Torra Bay or Terrace Bay (depending on permit area)
Day 7 – Skeleton Coast Exploration
- Early morning photography (best fog light)
- Explore dry riverbeds
- Possible desert-adapted elephants (with guide)
- Remote beach driving (check tides!)
This is a slow, landscape-focused day.
Day 8 – Skeleton Coast → Damaraland
Drive: 4–6 hrs (gravel)
- Visit Twyfelfontein rock engravings (UNESCO site)
- See Organ Pipes & Burnt Mountain
- Sunset over red rock formations
Overnight: Damaraland lodge
Day 9 – Damaraland Exploration
- Guided search for desert elephants
- Visit Spitzkoppe granite peaks
- Optional short granite dome hike
- Excellent astrophotography at night
Day 10 – Damaraland → Etosha National Park
Drive: 4–5 hrs
Enter via Anderson Gate. Afternoon game drive.
Day 11 – Etosha Safari
- Early morning waterhole circuit
- Focus on Okondeka, Halali, Goas
- Midday rest
- Night waterhole viewing
Day 12 – Etosha → Windhoek
Drive: 4–5 hrs
Return vehicle & departure.
