Day 1 – Arrival Windhoek
Stock supplies for remote travel (extra water + emergency kit).
Day 2 – Windhoek → Fish River Canyon
Drive: 6–7 hrs
- Mostly tar road
- Sunset at Hobas viewpoint
- Very quiet & vast landscape
Day 3 – Fish River Canyon
- Sunrise at main viewpoint
- Optional short rim hike
- Drive to Ai-Ais hot springs for swim
- Stargazing (minimal light pollution)
Day 4 – Canyon → Lüderitz
Drive: 4–5 hrs
- Stop at Garub to see wild desert horses
- Windy Atlantic coastal scenery
Day 5 – Lüderitz & Kolmanskop
- Arrive at Kolmanskop at opening (best light through windows)
- Explore abandoned houses filled with sand
- Visit Diaz Point
- Try local seafood dinner
Day 6 – Lüderitz → Sossusvlei
Drive: 7–8 hrs
- Remote desert landscapes
- Fuel at Aus or Helmeringhausen
- Arrive late afternoon
Day 7 – Sossusvlei Sunrise
- Dune climb
- Deadvlei walk
- Relax afternoon (extreme heat)
Day 8 – Sossusvlei → Swakopmund
Drive: 5–6 hrs
Day 9 – Swakopmund Rest / Light Adventure
Keep this day flexible before remote north.
Day 10 – Swakopmund → Kaokoland
Drive: 6–8 hrs (varies by route)
- Fuel at Kamanjab or Opuwo
- Roads become rough
- Carry spare tire & plenty of water
Day 11 – Kaokoland Cultural Experience
- Visit Himba community (arrange respectfully via lodge guide)
- Explore Kunene River region
- Optional: drive to Epupa Falls
- Very remote, minimal services
Day 12 – Kaokoland → Etosha National Park
Drive: 6 hrs
Enter via Galton Gate (western side). Afternoon safari.
Day 13 – Etosha Safari
- Full wildlife day
- Elephants, rhino, lion common in dry season
- Evening waterhole viewing
Day 14 – Etosha → Windhoek
Return drive & departure.
